Biography

LIEUTENANT COLONEL JAMES W. MALLOY Ill

Lt Col James MalloyLt Col James W. Malloy III is the is the Commander and Professor of Aerospace Studies Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 030, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. As Commander, he provides leadership and oversight of all unit operations and is responsible for recruiting, educating, training, and inspiring men and women to become the highest quality leaders in the United States Air Force and United States Space Force.

Lt Col Malloy hails from the state of California, and received his commission from the University of Virginia in 2005, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. Additionally, he graduated from the American Military University in 2010, earning a Master of Business Administration degree.

Lt Col Malloy's background includes assignments as a nuclear missile operator where he was accountable to the President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, and the Commander of United States Strategic Command to monitor and launch 150 ICBMs worth $3.3 billion. He was an ICBM instructor where he ensured proper training of Emergency War Order tactics, techniques, and procedures for over 200 missile combat crew members. He also secured Air Force Space Command's largest Top Secret Communications Security account which consisted of over 88,000 items. 

Lt Col Malloy also served as the Director of Operations for a Basic Military Training squadron where he was responsible for producing 8,000 new Airman per year. Additionally, he served as the Deputy Director of the Headquarters, Air Education and Training Command's Command Action Group. His duty stations include locations in California, Wyoming, Texas, and North Dakota.
